Hiatus for Realists

June 13th, 2011 | Robbi

This week we are starting our summer hiatus from Daily Affirmations for Realists. We leave for a Alaska in a week, and in spite of my desire to be a good, reliable, and constant source of horse sense, several last-minute boomerangs (those are the things that come out of left field, right?) have come our way that are pretty much going to require our attention before we go.

This does not mean that DAFR is going to putter out into nothing! (So I say now, anyway.) We hope to spend our many many long hours of travel coming up with sketches while our children sit angelically on our laps on the plane. Or our many many long hours of sitting in a boat covered with fish slime coming up with sketches while the fish pick themselves out of the nets and put themselves on the scales to be weighed and bought. This might, in fact, be the most productive summer ever.

And, just in case you still don’t absolve me of my current lack of diligence, I’m going to blame the whole thing on Matthew, who got me knocked up so that now I can’t eat anything (except, it turns out, for steamed crabs and strawberry rhubarb cobbler) without a run to the porcelain goddess. This baby is already more trouble than the last two were.

Okay.
Actually.
Let’s get serious.
We all know this is the reason we’re going on hiatus:

Ah, to sleep…
